Science & pre-health admissions

The signature focus — helping research- and health-bound students tell a clear, credible story.

← College admissions strategy

This is the work I know best. Science and pre-health applicants tend to share one problem: extraordinary substance, unclear story. I read these applications the way the people who evaluate them do, and I can usually tell when a research claim won't hold up.

What you get

  • Research narrative — we turn real work (a lab project, independent study, or science-fair investigation) into a story a non-specialist can follow, with your actual contribution framed honestly. No jargon, no overclaiming; clarity is what reads as credibility.
  • Pre-health pathway — for pre-med, nursing, and public-health students: getting past "I want to help people" to the specific reason, and balancing clinical exposure, service, and research into a coherent picture.
  • BS/MD-aware advising — what these programs actually look for, with a balanced list that doesn't depend on a single long shot. I don't promise BS/MD outcomes.
  • UC STEM & biology applications — the test-blind, four-personal-insight-question format, plus candid thinking about how impacted a given science major is.
  • Interview prep — how to talk about research and clinical experience clearly, without jargon or overclaiming.

Why me, briefly: a Harvard PhD in the biological sciences (dissertation work at Harvard Medical School / Joslin Diabetes Center) and a published metabolic-disease researcher who completed clinical medical training at UT Southwestern before turning to research full-time — so I understand the pre-health road from the inside. First-generation and bilingual; I work in English or Spanish. More about me →

The student is always the author — I coach and edit, I don't write essays. No admission outcomes are guaranteed. I'm an independent educational consultant; my prior Harvard College alumni-interviewer role (2021–2025) was separate from this practice and conferred no admissions influence or endorsement.
